Use Inventory → Adjust / write off to record a correction or a loss with a reason. Every entry is added to the ledger and to the audit log.

  • Write-off (stock leaves) — a loss: damaged, expired, stolen, used in the shop. Enter how many are lost; they are taken out of stock.
  • Adjustment (up or down) — a correction. Enter the change: 3 adds three, -2 takes two away.
  1. Choose a store.
  2. Choose a reason. The reason decides whether it is a write-off or an adjustment.
  3. Add an item: search name or SKU, then enter the quantity. Add as many items as you need.
  4. Add a Note (optional).
  5. Select Post write-off or Post adjustment.

For a full recount of a shelf or store, use a stock count instead.

Manage reasons in Settings → Stock adjustment reasons. Ready-made:

The Adjustments & write-offs report shows what was adjusted or written off, by store and reason, with its value.
