Languages

GPOS — the back office, the till and this guide — is available in English, සිංහල (Sinhala) and தமிழ் (Tamil).

Which language is used?

1. Your own choice — the language switch on the sign-in page and in the app.
2. Your employee setting — an administrator can set each employee’s Language in Employees → Edit. Business default follows the business.
3. The business default — set by the owner in Settings → Regional settings → Default language.

Sinhala and Tamil product names

Customers like to read receipts in their own language. To add Sinhala and Tamil names:

1. Go to Settings → Products and prices and tick Use Sinhala/Tamil product names.
2. Select Save settings.
3. Each product now has optional Sinhala name and Tamil name fields. In the import spreadsheet use the name_si and name_ta columns.

The till and receipts use these names when they are filled in. Payment methods, cash in/out reasons and similar lists also have optional Sinhala and Tamil names.
