Both need an open shift (refunds come out of its drawer) and, unless your role allows it, a manager’s approval.

  1. Select Sales (F9) to open Sales on this till.
  2. Search receipt number, or pick the sale from the list.
  3. Sale from another till? Type the receipt number and select Find … (another till) — this needs internet.
  1. On the sale, select Return (then Return items).
  2. For each line, enter the Quantity to return (or All). The screen shows what was sold and what was returned already.
  3. Choose a Reason — Faulty, Wrong item, Changed mind or your own.
  4. Tick Back to stock (resellable) if the item can be sold again. Leave it unticked for damaged goods — they are recorded as not restocked.
  5. Choose Refund to — for example Cash — and for card, QR or bank refunds type the Refund reference from the terminal or app. A non-cash method can take back at most what was paid with it; refund the rest in cash.
  6. Select Refund {amount} and get a manager’s approval if asked.

A RETURN / REFUND receipt is printed with the original receipt number.

  1. On the sale, select Void (then Void sale).
  2. Choose a Reason. The screen shows how it is refunded the way it was paid.
  3. Select Void the sale and get approval if asked.

A VOID receipt is printed.

  • Offline, the till only knows returns made on this till.
  • This sale is older than the business’s return window — the return window has passed.
  • Returns and voids appear in Sales (Returned, Partly returned, Voided) and in the Refunds & voids report.
