Batches and expiry

Depends on your plan

This page is part of the Batch/lot and expiry tracking feature. If it is not in your plan, you will not see it in the menu. See Plans and features.

For food, medicine and cosmetics you can track batches (lots) with expiry dates. This feature depends on your plan.

Turn it on for a product

On the product, tick Track batches and expiry dates (asked when receiving). When you receive goods for it, you enter the Batch no. and Expiry date.

How stock is taken

Sales, transfers and write-offs take from the batch that expires first.

The Expiry tab

Inventory → Expiry shows what is left of each received batch, earliest expiry first.

1. Choose the Store.
2. Choose Expiring — within … days (and expired), or All batches.
3. Each row shows the item, Batch no., Expiry, … days left or Expired, and the quantity. The total Value of these batches is shown.

To remove expired or damaged stock, select Write off on the batch, enter the quantity and confirm.

Stock received before batches were tracked is not listed.
